Position : Planning Manager

Location : Orillia, ON

Salary : $80,000 - $110,000 per year (depending on experience and qualifications)

Industry : Manufacturing / Production Planning / Industrial

Employment Term : Full Time / Permanent

Roles & Responsibilities :

  • Responsible for determining estimated delivery dates by considering department capacities and current workloads.
  • Establishing a systematic approach to prioritize customer orders and monitor their progression at both departmental and overall manufacturing levels within the company.
  • Provide clear and realistic delivery dates to the Sales department and maintain open communication with them regarding order progress and any customer-related inquiries.
  • Create and share a monthly plan that covers all departments involved in the manufacturing process and generate and communicate a weekly plan for all departments involved in the manufacturing process.
  • Keep track of each department's monthly capacity and workload for confirmed orders and prepare documents for process confirmation to guide the production team during production meetings.
  • Supervise other department planners to ensure timely delivery and optimal output.
  • Effectively communicate production schedules to departments well in advance to ensure adequate staffing.
  • Monitor, expedite, and oversee the procurement of parts and subcontractor services in alignment with the production schedule.
  • Perform additional duties as needed.

Qualifications & Experience :

  • Post Secondary education in a related field
  • 7+ years of experience in a planning role within a manufacturing setting
  • 5 years experience in a managerial role
  • Strong understanding of Lean Manufacturing Principles an asset.
  • Project Management qualification preferred.
  • Demonstrated expertise and training in applying Lean methodologies for process enhancement are highly valuable.
  • An ability to interpret blueprints and mechanical drawings is considered a beneficial skill.
  • Basic knowledge of machining, welding, and fabrication is a plus.
  • Highly adept in utilizing the Microsoft Office suite and ERP Systems.
  • Excellent communication skills both written and verbal.
