Benefits : This position entitles the successful candidate to qualify for Alberta School Employee Benefit Plan (ASEBP) coverage.

Responsibilities : Provision of direct counseling intervention to children and their families; Provision of preventative and educational programming to students, parents, school staff and other interested community members;

Crisis management and risk assessment services provided to students The Family School Liaison Counselor (FSLC) will be a strong team member, working in partnership with school staff and interagency partners.

Experience & Qualifications : Successful candidate will possess an equivalent Master’s degree in the counseling area, a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Social Work, or equivalent.

• Successful Criminal Reference Check, including vulnerable sectors (within 3 months of contract start date). Skills and Competencies : Strong work ethic;
• Ability to relate well with students, staff and parents; An ethic of service to students, colleagues, and community; Strong interpersonal skills combined with the ability to create positive relationships and establish rapport;

In order to maintain a safe and secure working environment, applicants new to The Palliser School Division must provide : Criminal Record Check, including vulnerable sector check from Local Police Service or RCMP detachment;
