We're currently seeking an Estimator for our Edmonton location, in Alberta. We offer competitive salaries for Estimators ranging from $50,000-$63,000, depending on experience.
The successful candidate will support customer service, initial estimates and repair plans. While primary duties are focused on the reduction of customer effort and vehicle throughput, the estimators are active in quality control, insurance relations and parts.
Key Responsibilities
- Supports daily operations by providing leadership to ensure stakeholder objectives are met in a safe, effective, ethical and positive manner;
- Supports daily production, work flow and quality control of the shop;
- Uses company dashboard to accurately identify and prioritize tasks;
- Actively participates in daily production meetings;
- Utilizes expert understanding and application of all insurance specific policies and procedures;
- Identifies and orders parts from the management system after completing repair plan;
- Assists with educating customers about claims and repair process;
- Maintains awareness of production deadlines and updates customers as required;
- Provides customer service at vehicle drop off and pick up, including reviewing replacement vehicle and customer vehicle;
- Walks with purpose, demonstrates care about the whole vehicle and all stakeholders;
- Supports pre and post vehicle diagnostic scanning;
- Checks for vehicle recalls while building repair plans;
- Reviews vehicle history in the Management System;
- Proactively takes steps and leverages all systems and resources to reduce effort in order to increase touch time and reduce vehicle days in shop;
- Works with the Shop Manager, Assistant Shop Manager, Operations team, People and Culture Team, and Health, Safety and Environment Manager to ensure that operations are compliant with all provincial and national regulatory standards pertaining to health and safety, quality and employment standards;
- Ensures compliance with internal policies, procedures and guidelines to promote their consistent application within the Company;
- Contributes to the goal of closing all files within 24 hours of vehicle delivery;
- Supports company standards in SPARKLE, safety and security;
Other related duties as assigned.
Requirements
- Minimum of 1.5 years of progressive industry experience, including experience in sales, customer service, or leadership;
- Post-secondary degree or diploma in a related field preferred; a combination of education and relevant experience will also be considered;
- Experience working in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment;
- Working towards I-CAR Platinum certification an asset;
- Proficient in Mitchell Estimating, Audatex, ALLDATA;
- Knowledge and experience in ADAS systems, vehicle calibrations, and emerging vehicle technologies;
- Strong verbal, written and listening skills, combined with the ability to interact and gain the support of senior leadership and other decision-makers;
- A well-defined sense of diplomacy, including negotiation and conflict resolution skills;
- Demonstrated time management, problem solving, critical thinking and sound judgement skills;
- Strong interpersonal skills with customer service-oriented attitude;
- Proficient in Outlook and video conferencing platforms with the ability and willingness to learn new applications;
- Demonstrated desire and aptitude for learning and development;
- Must have a valid class 5 driver's license with a clean driver’s abstract over the last 3 years;
Must be legally entitled to work in Canada with no restrictions.
