Job Overview :
Kingston Midstream is seeking an Integrity EIT / Engineer to join our collaborative team of Integrity professionals. The successful candidate will be responsible to develop, implement, and maintain Kingston’s Integrity Risk Management processes, procedures, standards, and guidelines.
Participate in or lead completion of Integrity assessments and to advocate and educate internal and external stakeholders on the Integrity Risk Model and Risk Management strategies, processes, and mitigations.
Position Responsibilities
- Responsible to ensure Integrity Risk Management processes are developed, implemented, and maintained per Kingston’s and regulatory requirements and manages the organization’s risk exposure.
- Collaborate with stakeholders to ensure work is conducted safely and in accordance with corporate policies, procedures, standards, and applicable regulations.
- Lead the design, development, and implementation of the Risk-Based Integrity Management Program (RBIM) for prioritizing maintenance and inspection activities for tanks, pressure equipment and pressure piping.
- Coordinate the Risk Model Data collection and input, obtain risk model outputs for both pipeline and facility piping. Audit results and the risk assessment processes for compliance and improvements.
- Facilitate stakeholder reviews to identify and discuss risks, develop mitigation plans to address risks, and adequately scope work for inclusion in the annual budget and long-range plan.
- Educate internal and external stakeholders on Integrity Risk Management, including the strategies and methods employed to effectively identify, categorize, manage, mitigate, and report on risks.
- Provide technical and RBIM program support to optimize existing asset reliability, while applying cost-benefit and fit-for-purpose principles.
- Participate in or Lead in performing Fitness-for-service (API / ASME FFS-1) assessments and finite element analysis to evaluate the structural integrity and fitness of several types of equipment to ensure they remain safe and reliable in operation.
- Participate in or Lead, as directed, any investigation, reporting, and follow-up activities associated with departmental incidents or facilities loss of containment events.
- Participate in industry networks to ensure industry recommended integrity and reliability practices are explored and considered for adoption in the RBIM Program.
Skills and Qualifications :
- Engineering Degree or suitable Technologist Designation.
- Registration as an Engineer in Training or Professional Engineer in Alberta, and / or Saskatchewan, and / or Manitoba.
- 2 - 5 years of progressively responsible engineering experience related to facility integrity, facility and pipeline operations including demonstrated risk management capabilities.
- Work experience in the areas of risk-based inspections (RBIM), inspection, reliability, risk assessments and condition assessment, root cause analysis, failure investigation, welding, corrosion control and mitigation for oil operators.
- Experience related to design, construction and maintenance of storage tanks, pressure equipment and pressure piping would be considered an asset.
- Working knowledge of API Recommended Practice API , API , API , API , API , API , API , and API .
- Certification in, or the interest and ability to become certified in API and API is required.
- API , , and / or API certifications would be considered an asset.
- Statistical knowledge and previous experience with GIS systems and risk management software (RBIM) packages would be an asset.
- Excellent quantitative and analytical skills, along with the ability to apply those skills to assess changes in conditions, operations, or the environment, and identify actions necessary to correct issues or problems.
- Effective communication skills, including the ability to convey technical and complex information clearly and concisely to a range of audiences verbally, in writing, and via presentations.
- Demonstrate a high degree of personal initiative with the ability to work effectively, either independently or in a team environment.
- Strong attention to detail, ability for problem solving and critical thinking skills.
- Ability to work under pressure within tight deadlines and demonstrating time management and priority setting skills.
Kingston Midstream is committed to providing a flexible work practice to allow office employees to work both from the office and from a remote location.
This position may work remotely Mondays and Fridays and in Kingston Midstream’s office Tuesday to Thursday.
