Permanent Family Physician with Obstetrical Surgical Skills (OSS). Contact: Dr. Kimberley Allan and Dr. Adriana Mejia‑French.

We invite a family physician trained in OSS to join our call group, the Fernie Medical Community and Elk Valley Hospital.

Our small team is built on collaboration, support, and a commitment to our community's health. We understand the importance of work‑life balance and a flexible schedule. We currently function surgically with one enhanced surgical‑skilled physician, and one obstetrical surgical skills physician. We are seeking a third surgical call provider. Call volume is 1 in 3 however, we often assist each other on cases and strive to provide a supportive environment for our physicians.

Our low risk maternity group practice (6 physicians, 1 midwife) shares maternity call as well as prenatal and postnatal office care.

Skills required: CCFP with a certificate of added competency (CAC) in obstetrical surgical skills. Additional opportunities include family medicine practice paid through the Longitudinal Family Physician (LFP) Payment Model, and emergency shifts – compensated under the new Alternative Payments Subsidiary Agreement (APSA) contract.
