ABOUT THE ROLE
TheElectrician is responsible for performing general electrical maintenance, troubleshooting, and repairing plant machinery and equipment to support safe, reliable, and efficient manufacturing operations.
Reporting to theMaintenance Manager, this role works closely with employees across the entire plant to ensure electrical systems and equipment operate safely, efficiently, and in compliance with all applicable regulations.
WHAT YOU WILL DO
Electrical maintenance & repairs
- Perform standard electrical maintenance on machinery and equipment, independently or under the supervision of the Maintenance Manager.
- Complete electrical repairs and installations to support ongoing plant operations.
- Troubleshoot and diagnose electrical issues to identify effective repair solutions.
Mechanical & operational support
Perform minor mechanical repairs and installations as required.Operate and maintain applicable machinery and equipment within the assigned area.Use appropriate material handling techniques, including cranes, slings, and related equipment.Maintenance coordination
Operate the Maintenance Request System to receive, track, and complete work requests.Participate in maintenance team meetings and contribute to coordinated planning and problem-solving.Safety & compliance
Always use and operate equipment in a safe manner.Perform safe lock-out and tag-out procedures during repairs and maintenance.Report equipment defects, workplace hazards, or safety concerns promptly.Work in full compliance with the Occupational Health and Safety Act and its regulations.Understand and exercise rights under the Occupational Health and Safety Act, including the right to refuse unsafe work and the right to know about workplace hazards.WHAT YOU WILL NEED
Qualifications & experience
Licensed Electrician with 5+ years of experienceExperience performing electrical maintenance and repairs in a manufacturing or industrial environment.Willing to work both the day and afternoon shifts.Technical skills
Strong knowledge of electrical systems, machinery operation, and maintenance requirements.Understanding of lock-out procedures, equipment limitations, and safe work practices.Familiarity with company products and their applications (or willingness to learn).Personal attributes
Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.A safety-focused mindset with attention to detail and compliance.
