Registered Veterinary Technologist, RVT

Location : Victoria, BC

Department : Surgery

New Grads Welcome!

Start Date : Late September (Date to be determined with candidate)

Central Victoria Veterinary Hospital is welcoming a Veterinary Technologist, RVT to join our Surgery Department, and team of skilled veterinary professionals.

While our network is large, we still offer that local community feeling, mentorship, and additional training!

This role will work closely with our surgery team, including TWO board certified surgeons, to provide excellent care to patients requiring this service.

The successful candidate will possess exceptional patient care and technical skills (including anesthesia). You will have opportunities to expand your learning through extensive exposure and involvement on cases with various degrees of complexity;

you will also have a board certified anesthesiologist available to weigh in on protocols and procedures.

Schedule : This position is full time (40 hours / week), with a rotating schedule. Shifts may range from 8-10 hours, 4-5 days per week.

The department will be open Monday - Friday.

Previous experience in a specialty surgery role would be an asset but is not required.

Surgical preparation, assisting and patient recovery.

Ability to keep detailed and accurate patient records.

Compassionate care for our hospitalized patients and their pet parents

Ability to manage multiple priorities simultaneously.

Strong problem-solving aptitude, including the ability to ask clarifying questions to facilitate effective solution-finding

Exceptional interpersonal skills in working with your colleagues and pet parents.

Proven ability to keep accurate patient records

Strong ability to problem-solve

Passion to learn more within the role.

Compensation : $ to $ per hour. The hourly rate range is for the primary location for which the job is posted. It may vary depending on the work location of the successful candidate or other factors.
