We are seeking a Senior Accountant to join the Finance team with our client located out of Victoria BC. The Senior Accountant will be reporting into the Controller and Director of Finance where they will be responsible for month end, quarter end, and year end closures. As the Senior Accountant, they will also oversee, mentor, and supervise the work of Accounting Assistants. As the Senior Accountant you will also get to work with financial planning and analysis including budgeting & forecasting, decision support, modelling, financial reporting, and working with dashboards. RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Prepare with month end, quarter end, year end financial statements for multiple entities

• Management of monthly and quarterly reporting deliverables

• Coordination with finance groups with annual budgeting, quarterly forecasting, cost modeling, and financial reporting and analysis

• Ensure all reports and budgets are prepared with current and relevant accounting principles

• Prepare working papers for year end audits and corporate tax filings

• Prepare complex consolidated financials

• Supervise 2 Accounting Assistants with their day-to-day operations

• Develop and maintain control documents

• Internally, this role will communicate with all levels of management

• Perform other duties as assigned

Job Requirements:

QUALIFICATIONS:

• Minimum of 4 years progressive accounting experience, ideally from big 4 or 6 public practice or in public practice.

• Degree in Commerce, Business, Finance, or related field. A CPA designation is preferred

• Experience as a Financial Analyst will be considered an asset

• Ability to work independently and as part of a team

• Strong technical skills, able to use Dashboards and/or Power BI are considered an asset

• Excellent interpersonal, oral, and written communication skills
