About Highland Valley Copper
Highland Valley Copper (HVC) Operations is Canada’s largest open‑pit copper and molybdenum mine. HVC produces copper and molybdenum concentrate through autogenous and semi‑autogenous grinding and flotation. It is located approximately 17 km west of Logan Lake and about 50 km southwest of Kamloops in British Columbia.

For this exciting position, we are specifically targeting students with a background in Education, Human Resources, Business Administration, Data Analytics, or a related field. The Learning and Development Co‑op seeks students who are passionate about workforce development, data‑driven decision making, and continuous improvement in an industrial environment. The ideal candidate is curious about how effective learning programs contribute to operational safety, productivity, and workforce capability within a mining operation.
Reporting to the L&D Superintendent, this position supports the delivery and enhancement of site‑wide training operations. The role focuses on coordinating day‑to‑day training activities, assisting in the development of learning materials, and tracking compliance to ensure safe and efficient operations.
If you are not currently located in the area of this co‑op position, you must be willing to either commute or relocate to the surrounding area for the entire duration of the co‑op term. You must also be a student enrolled in a Canadian post‑secondary institution and remain enrolled throughout the co‑op term. Proof of a valid work permit, if applicable, will be required.
