Base pay range
CA$60,000.00 / yr - CA$85,000.00 / yr
As part of our Cultivation team, our Assistant Grower will support irrigation, nutrient management, and environmental conditions to ensure crop health and quality. You are a proactive team player, committed to maintaining high cultivation standards, aligned with Pure Sunfarms’ focus on premium cannabis production. You will assist with crop care, fertilizer inventory, and pest management, contributing to our operational excellence.
Essential Responsibilities
- Assist and lead with training new crop laborers and monitor the quality of their work to ensure adherence to Pure Sunfarms’ cultivation standards, contributing to team efficiency and crop quality.
- Assist and lead in setting up and documenting crop trials, which contributes to process improvements and innovation within the cultivation team.
- Perform weekly plant registrations to assist growers in tracking crop progress, ensuring all plants are properly documented for growth and maintenance activities.
- Perform data entry for plant inventory tracking to support accurate record-keeping and inventory management.
- Understand and assist with climate control systems, ensuring the optimal growing and irrigation strategies are maintained for crops.
- Help optimize growing and labor strategies and efficiencies.
- Monitor for pests and diseases, documenting findings and addressing issues to maintain a healthy crop environment, minimizing loss and improving crop quality.
- Assist with mixing and applying pest control products as needed, ensuring effective pest management practices are followed.
- Recognize and manage the removal of diseased plants to prevent the spread of disease, maintaining overall crop health.
- Help maintain overall greenhouse cleanliness, contributing to a safe workspace and minimizing contamination risks to crops.
- Be able to recognize and fix minor problems / concerns with the systems in the greenhouse.
- Ensure Health Canada compliance is followed.
- Ensure worker safety and understand Occupational Health & Safety policies.

Diploma in Horticulture required.Degree in Horticulture or a related field is an asset.Qualifications & Experience
2+ years of experience in an agricultural or cultivation environment.Understanding of basic plant nutrition.Understanding of greenhouse environmental control systems. Preferably Priva.Knowledge & Skills
Strong communication, time management, and basic problem-solving skills are essential for this role.Ability to work effectively as part of a team and take direction from senior growers, with a willingness to learn and support multiple projects.Basic to intermediate computer skills with MS Office (Word, Excel, Outlook) and a willingness to learn greenhouse environmental control systems.Interest in learning greenhouse climate control software and electronic systems for crop management, with exposure to Priva being an asset.Flexibility and adaptability to the job's requirements, along with the ability to meet the physical demands of a greenhouse environment, are important.Must have the ability to obtain and pass a RCMP Criminal Record Check and maintain security clearance.Physical Requirements
