Forestry Officer
Pay Rate : $75,000 - $85,000 / year depending on experience.

Duties and Responsibilities :
Oversee and manage field personnel surveying forests for archaeological features.
Develop forest management programs and internal capacity to undertake inventory, engineering, CMT surveys, restoration and silviculture projects.
Provide support and strategic direction for land use planning, wildlife conservation and natural resource management across the territory.
Develop the archeology program in collaboration with leadership.
Participate in training programs to comply with fund and safety requirements.
Maintain a close working professional relationship with the Nations Registered Consulting Archaeologist.
Requirements and Qualifications :
Master’s in science with two years of experience or Bachelor of Science with up to five years of experience in forestry.
Registered Professional Forester or eligible for the designation.
Safety training assessments may include small vessel operator proficiency, wilderness first aid, helicopter safety, and bear awareness.
Ability to work independently or collaboratively in a team environment.
Comfortable working safely in remote environments in all weather conditions.
Experience in land use planning, coastal temperate rainforest issues
GIS skills are assets.
Familiarity with British Columbia's FRPA regulations and requirements for archaeological assessments.
Clear criminal check and a valid driver's license.
Work is primarily outdoors; the successful candidate is required to relocate to Gold River, British Columbia.
Must be legally eligible to work and reside in Canada
