Contract Administrator
Qualifications
Our ideal teammate will have : Bachelor’s degree in one of the following : Business Administration Engineering (Mechanical, Electrical, Civil, or Chemical)Five years of progressively responsible work experience in contract development, contract management, procurement, or contract administration.
Experience performing a contract administration role for large scale projects.Experience in capital construction environments.
Comprehensive knowledge of New Brunswick Acts and Regulations relating to procurement of goods and services and knowledge of standard Procurement methods and tools.
Certified Construction Contract Administrator designation, as administered by Construction Specifications Canada, or a similar designation would be considered an asset.
Skilled in coaching, dispute mediation and conflict resolution. Excellent written and verbal communication skills.Strong organizational and time management skills.
Ability to use information and problem solve, adhere to strict time frames, and show attention to details. An equivalent combination of training and experience will be considered.
Subject to competition response, the minimum qualifications may be modified. An Eligibility List generated from this competition may be used to fill future vacancies at the same level within a period of up to 12 months.
Duties
Key functions include : Performing project contract administration functions at the pre-contract, contract administration, and contract closure phases of a contract lifecycle, advising the project manager and team members with respect to contract related matters, and designing standard practices for contract related administration activities.
Supporting acquisition of services and materials for capital projects, through the development, issuing and review of appropriate supply chain documentation (tender, REOI, RFP, etc.
Participating in the selection of procurement methods, evaluating tender submissions, preparing recommendations to award and structuring purchase orders to ensure alignment with the project schedule requirements.
Reviewing terms and conditions within tender templates for alignment with the technical requirements of the work.Coordinating, chairing, and recording notes of project meetings with the contractor(s) including site investigation meetings, pre-award meetings, kick-off meetings, regular project meetings and dispute resolution meetings.
Tracking of work performed under the contract and preparing month-end accruals for contractor work and submitting to Cost Control.
