Senior Risk Management Specialist

They have asked MSG to search for a skilled Senior Risk Management Specialist in Edmonton.

Reporting to the Vice President of Risk Management, you'll be an integral part of their team, contributing to the development and implementation of cutting-edge risk management strategies across North American operations and projects.

Responsibilities :

  • Collaborate in the strategic development and execution of risk management strategies across the enterprise.
  • Tailor risk management to align seamlessly with business objectives and risk appetite.
  • Conduct comprehensive assessments, leveraging diverse data and industry insights.
  • Assess and quantify risks, considering financial, legal, and environmental implications.
  • Provide expert guidance on risk and insurance matters to internal stakeholders, with a primary focus on Operations and Corporate Services.
  • Coordinate with external service providers in insurance, finance, and legal domains.
  • Engage in negotiations with owners and third parties to effectively manage project financial risks.
  • Develop and implement innovative risk mitigation models and techniques while balancing effectiveness and cost-efficiency.
  • Foster a culture of risk awareness and knowledge sharing throughout the organization.

Qualifications :

  • Demonstrated leadership experience with a track record of delivering results.
  • A bachelor's degree in Risk Management, Business, Finance, Economics, or Law.
  • Proven expertise in insurance and risk management principles and practices.
  • Exceptional analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
  • Ability to thrive in high-pressure, fast-paced environments.
  • Self-motivated and able to meet tight deadlines without sacrificing quality.
  • Strong organizational skills with meticulous attention to detail.
  • Outstanding communication skills, both written and verbal, with a knack for influencing others.
  • Ability to grasp complex business issues and translate them into actionable strategies.
  • Experience leading teams and managing projects effectively.
