Position : Manager - Investments and Financial ReportingLocation : MontrealOur client is the management company for the assets of the founding shareholders of Dollarama L.P., the leading Canadian dollar discount retailer with over 1500 stores. Their team is formed by highly professional individuals and its work environment is action-oriented with a strong focus on continuous improvement.The Investments and Financial Reporting Manager is a member of the company's Capital's finance and administration team. The Manager would be responsible for the portfolio investment treasury and reporting activities.The successful candidate will have a proven track record of driving continuous improvement when it comes to financial reporting, compliance (in an investment sector), internal controls, and will help build institutional knowledge and processes within the finance team.Responsibilities include : - Work with asset management area of the business to prepare accurate financial reporting and improve internal controls and processes, including ensuring accuracy of all cashflow and market value data within our Investment Reporting Software (Solovis)- Completion of monthly, quarterly and annual financial reporting packages- Developing and improving financial reporting information provided to executives including benchmarking and other relevant analyses- Prepare subscription documents for new investments including ongoing investment fund communication and documentation- Ensure internal due diligence documentation is complete for new investments- Understand tax treatment of various investment structures and ensuring accuracy of tax costs, gains and losses- Supervise the Document Coordinator who is responsible for monitoring and actioning a high-volume, shared e-mail inbox used for communicating with all portfolio investments.- Coordinate with third-party investment managers to complete KYC / AML, FATCA / CRS, tax compliance forms and other ad hoc requests- Review and complete banking forms for account openings, closures, and updates- Be responsible for special projects in asset management and financial reporting including the implementation of AI tools to advance the efficiencies within the reporting systems and improve the accuracy and monitoring activitiesQualifications : - An undergraduate degree in Business Administration, Accounting or Finance, with a CPA / CFA designation.- A minimum of 8 to 10 years finance and accounting experience; technically strong in accounting- Industry experience in investment management and / or real estate within accounting group, a strong asset.- Strong management skills; able to handle multiple competing priorities in a fast-paced and operational environment, consistently meeting deadlines with accurate and detailed results- Strong interest in investments.- Driven, self-starter, enthusiastic learner.- Customer focused and results oriented individual- Well organized and detail oriented.- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills (written and oral) for effective interaction with all levels of company management and personnel- High level of integrity and strong sense of personal ownership and accountability- High proficiency in ExcelLeadership Attributes : - Great collaborator and team player engaging others while thriving in a fast-paced, entrepreneurial environment where quality, speed of decision-making and execution are critical to organizational success- Action-oriented, low key and hardworking, with a commitment to the highest quality of care and service- Politically savvy; exercise discretion and diplomacy- Discreet and displays confidencePlease send your resume in Word format to Milene Rizcalla at [email protected] A PERM HIRE AND EARN UP TO $1,000!
