We are looking for a dedicated Payment Specialist to join our team in Guelph, Ontario. In this role, you will oversee accounts payable processes, ensuring payments are handled efficiently and accurately while maintaining compliance with company policies. This position offers an opportunity to contribute to the financial operations of the organization and collaborate with various departments.
Responsibilities :
- Process vendor invoices, ensuring accurate coding and timely payment.
- Manage accounts payable data entry and filing activities.
- Maintain and update financial spreadsheets to support reporting needs.
- Reconcile payments with general ledgers to ensure accuracy and completeness.
- Review incoming bills for errors or discrepancies and resolve any issues.
- Investigate and address billing problems and misapplied transactions.
- Prepare and distribute payment reports for approval by senior management.
- Issue payments weekly, including cheques, wires, and online transfers.
- Uphold strict confidentiality regarding financial records and sensitive information.
- Follow organizational policies and procedures to address payment-related issues.
- Minimum of five years of experience in accounts payable or a similar role.
- Proficiency in processing payments, reconciling accounts, and handling invoices.
- Strong knowledge of payment regulations and fair credit practices.
- High attention to detail with excellent data entry accuracy.
- Advanced skills in Microsoft Excel and familiarity with accounting systems, such as NetSuite.
- Ability to analyze and resolve payment discrepancies effectively.
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, for collaborating with stakeholders.
- Strong organizational and time management skills to handle multiple tasks efficiently.
