The Company
Our non-profit client based in Oshawa, Ontario is looking for a Communications Coordinator for a 12 month contract. The Communications Coordinator will be working in office 5 days per week, and some travel within the Durham Region may be required.
The Position
The Communications Coordinator will be supporting the execution of external communications, and public relations campaigns. You will play a key role in representing the organization, preparing content for social media, and supporting promotional activities for various events.
Responsibilities :
- Contribute to content creation (content and design) for social media platforms (Instagram and Facebook)
- Develop, design, and distribute both internal and external publications, including brochures, newsletters, and promotional material.
- Actively participate in community events, representing the organization professionally and building strong, positive relationships with community members.
- Clearly and convincingly share information about our programs and services, ensuring a comprehensive understanding among the public and key stakeholders.
- Work closely with the fundraising team and assist in the creation of promotional packages for potential sponsors
- Participate in the planning and execution of corporate events, with a particular focus on fundraising events
- Ensure all promotional material is up to standard both online (social media) and in-person (booths at events).
- 2+ years of experience in Marketing Communications, Public Relations, Experiential Marketing, or similar
- Exceptional writing and editing skills.
- Proficiency in Adobe Creative Cloud, and Canva
- Comfortable and skilled in public speaking
- Able to connect with a diverse range of people and communities
- Valid driver's license is an asset, as the role involves attending events throughout the Durham region
