Employment Opportunity – Full Time Middle School Teacher Yellowhead Koinonia Christian School Yellowhead Koinonia Christian School (YKCS) is seeking a Fulltime Middle School Teacher to start on August 26, 2024, for the 2024 / 2025 school year with the possibility of extending for future years. This position includes creating a safe and inclusive Grade 5 / 6 homeroom classroom environment. YKCS is committed to cultivating the faith of students so that they will be able to live in the fullness of life before God according to His will for them. We are in Edson, AB, 200 km West of Edmonton and an hour from the beautiful Rocky Mountains. We are surrounded by vast forests with many lakes and rivers offering recreational opportunities.Characteristics A vibrant Christian faith. The ability to make Biblical values an integral part of school life and integrate them into subject matter. Clearly defined and well thought out assessment beliefs. Prepared to collaborate with other teachers and support staff as a member of a professional learning community. Have strong, positive people skills. Instruct students using lessons, discussions, audio-visual presentations, and field trips. Design effective strategies to meet the children’s diverse learning needs. Effective communication skills. Qualifications : Have a Bachelor of Education degree. Hold (or be eligible for) a valid Alberta teaching certificate. Have a passion for Christian Education Bible College education or successful experience in youth work is valuable. A knowledge of CTF or a second language would be an asset.
