Position : Payroll Technician

Company : Insurance Brokerage & Risk Management

Location : Downtown Montreal

Salary : $65K to $80K

We are seeking an experienced payroll technician to join a dynamic team within a well-regarded insurance brokerage and risk management firm located in downtown Montreal. Responsibilities

Here are the responsibilities for this payroll role in Montreal :

  • Manage payroll for approximately 450 salaried employees across Canada ;
  • Oversee the entire payroll cycle, including preparation, verification, and submission ;
  • Update employee records : new hires, adjustments, benefits, and deductions ;
  • Provide staff with information on payroll deductions and requirements ;
  • Coordinate remittances for garnishments, child support, etc. ;
  • Prepare journal entries and various monthly reports ;
  • Support year-end processes, including group insurance accounting ;
  • Perform additional tasks related to payroll management.
  • Qualifications

    The ideal candidate for this position must meet the following criteria :

  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in a similar role ;
  • Diploma in administrative techniques, accounting, or a relevant field ;
  • Bilingual, with excellent communication skills in both French and English ;
  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office, especially Excel ;
  • Knowledge of UKG software is a plus ;
  • Strong attention to detail, excellent organizational and time management skills, with the ability to meet deadlines and maintain confidentiality.
