Pay Rate : $25 - $35 per hour (training); $17.67 per hour (floor rate). We also offer access to our sport, fitness, and recreational facilities.

The Position :

Reporting to the Senior Coordinator, Fitness & Wellness , the Fitness & Wellness Trainer will ensure quality personal training sessions by designing accessible workouts, scheduling equipment demonstrations, and collaborating across departments to support members’ fitness and wellness goals.

The trainer will promote personal training, small group sessions, and other programs, building relationships to align participant pathways with member goals.

What You’ll Do :

Instruct

Promote and schedule personal training and equipment demos.

• Create customized training programs.
• Assist in delivering high-quality sessions with creativity and innovation.
• Engage and motivate clients during sessions.
• Support

Help achieve revenue targets by promoting programs.

• Handle customer service requirements diplomatically.
• Monitor client activity and provide guidance in the weight room.
• Inform members about programs and services.
• Attend staff meetings and training sessions.
• Assist with administrative tasks as needed.
• Culture

Create an inclusive, welcoming environment.

• Use problem-solving skills and adapt services as needed.
• Build rapport with members, staff, and community partners.
• Promote teamwork and empowerment.

What You’ll Bring :

• Education and Experience : Enrolled in or graduated from a Kinesiology, Physical Education, or related program. Must have a valid Personal Training Certification (CSEP, CPTN, Can Fit-Pro, etc.). Additional certifications (Nutrition, Senior Fitness, etc.) are assets. Over one year of group or personal training experience.
• Technical Skills : Knowledge of inclusion and accessibility, strong communication skills, proficiency in Microsoft 365, and familiarity with ACTIVENet or similar software.
• Professional Skills : Self-motivated, results-oriented, detail-focused, organized, team player, and excellent interpersonal skills. Customer-focused attitude.
• Administrative Requirements : Current criminal record check for vulnerable sector and valid First Aid and CPR ‘C’ / AED certification.
• Availability : Able to work weekdays, evenings, and weekends with a consistent schedule.
