Our progressive approach to digital distribution has allowed publishers such as The Washington Post, The Guardian, Newsweek, Rolling Stone, The Globe and Mail, and Vogue to find new audiences through business partnerships, including airlines, hotels, cruise ships, libraries, and thousands of other companies worldwide.

Our technology also powers Editions Plus - a white-label solution that enables publishers to deliver their digital content in interactive ways. Editions+ allows them to build a customizable platform that supports a wide range of revenue opportunities.

We have an opportunity for a Senior Area Manager role, to join our Library sales team, overseeing sales within the Americas. As a Senior Area Manager, Americas, you are responsible for driving sales growth in public, academic, government, and K-12 libraries across North and South America, through a combination of:

  1. Direct ownership of a defined sales territory or strategic market segment, where you will prospect and secure new business.
  2. Leadership of a regional sales team, ensuring that territory managers execute effectively, achieve personal and team targets and develop professionally.

This is a hybrid leadership and sales role, designed for a high-performing sales professional who enjoys nurturing relationships, closing business and developing people. The Senior Area Manager serves as a sales leader, strategist, coach and senior contributor - balancing personal revenue responsibility with overall regional performance.

This role reports to the Director, Libraries and collaborates closely with customer success, marketing, product and other sales leaders to accelerate growth throughout the Americas.

In this role, you will:

Own and Grow a Strategic Sales Territory or Segment

  • Maintain direct responsibility for an assigned geographic region, market segment or strategic account portfolio.
  • Develop and execute territory growth plans to achieve new business, retention and expansion targets.
  • Prospect, qualify and close new business opportunities.
  • Oversee retention efforts from Account Management teams, to keep churn low.
  • Represent PressReader at industry conferences, events and customer meetings.
  • Maintain accurate pipeline management, forecasting and activity tracking within CRM.

Lead and Develop the Americas Sales Team

  • Lead a team of Territory Managers and Agent Partners across the Americas.
  • Partner with the Director on regional planning, forecasting and market strategy.
  • Use knowledge of various regions in the Americas to translate company sales objectives into an executable plan.
  • Coach team members on pipeline development, sales strategy, account planning, opportunity management and retention efforts.
  • Conduct regular 1:1 meetings with direct reports, including pipeline reviews and performance management.
  • Support recruitment, onboarding and professional development initiatives.
  • Monitor area sales performance and own area targets.
  • Provide ongoing market intelligence, customer feedback and partnership opportunities to leadership.
  • Foster a high-performance, accountable and collaborative team environment.
  • Ensure consistent use of CRM, sales processes and other department standards across the region.
  • Contribute to cross-functional projects that improve sales effectiveness, customer experience and operational efficiency.

You’re a great fit if you have:

  • 5+ years of experience selling in international markets
  • 3+ years of successful B2B sales management experience
  • 2+ years in educational or library market spaces is preferred
  • Strong track record of both individual quota attainment and team leadership
  • Demonstrated ability to lead by example, through active sales engagement
  • Excellent EQ – coaching, communication, negotiation and relationship-building skills
  • Strong work ethic, goal-driven, self-motivated, with an insatiable desire to win and seek more
  • Business acumen, excellent attention to detail and negotiation skills, a natural closer
  • Consultative and collaborative sales approach
  • Experience with using CRM and Microsoft Office tools in all elements of sales workflow
  • Availability to travel throughout Americas and internationally as needed
  • Proficiency in French or Spanish is an asset

Bonus points if you:

  • Are tech-savvy
  • Have a global awareness
  • Have a strong interest in the technology sector
