The Procurement Specialist will coordinate the procurement of goods and services in the Manitoba and Saskatchewan markets. Responsibilities include contract implementation, strategy execution, warehouse management, and supplier performance. Working closely with the Procurement Manager and Category Managers, the role focuses on cost savings, process improvements, and customer service.
Key Responsibilities
Coordinate procurement activities aligned with category strategy, policies, and specifications.
Serve as the primary liaison between Category Management and local operations.
Identify and negotiate cost-saving opportunities; monitor supplier relationships and performance.
Ensure compliance with internal controls and provide timely reporting for savings, performance, and contracts.
Core Tasks
Maintain relationships with local management to meet procurement needs.
Support the CAPEX initiatives and RFP processes for plant operations.
Handle RFx processes, draft contracts, and track KPIs for procurement efficiency.
Report savings and ensure contractor compliance with safety requirements.
Relationships
Internal : Work with Procurement Managers, operations, buyers, and North American procurement personnel.
External : Manage vendor relationships.
Qualifications
Education : University Degree in Business or Engineering.
Experience : 2-5 years in procurement, with strong skills in supply chain management, strategic sourcing, negotiation, and eRFQ / eAuction technologies.
Skills : Proficient in Excel, excellent communication, and time management.
Other Requirements : Valid driver’s license, ability to travel to the U.S., SAP experience preferred.
