Position : Product Development and Design Specialist

Location : LaSalle

Salary : Up to $80K + group insurance + 3 weeks of vacation

Are you a creative and detail-oriented professional passionate about product development and design? Join our innovative team in LaSalle as a Product Development and Design Specialist . This role offers a dynamic work environment where your expertise will drive the creation and development of exceptional products.

Key Responsibilities :

  • Oversee multiple Key Accounts projects (e.g., Baers, Costco, Homesense, Leons, Amber Interiors).
  • Manage Signature line and Designer projects, ensuring timely launches.
  • Maintain communication with our China Product Development Office.
  • Conduct research and development for lighting, table lamps, and mirrors.
  • Create 3D designs for mirrors and lighting using Rhino, Modo, and Sketchup software.
  • Develop, review, and approve all product samples.
  • Approve product line assembly instructions and technical drawings.
  • Send RFQs (Request for Quote) and create costings.
  • Manage VPO (Vendor Purchase Order) requests and reviews.
  • Organize and file sample photos to track development.
  • Approve reordered table and floor lamps with new shades.
  • Review physical samples at the warehouse and address product issues.
  • Collaborate with QC teams in Canada, China, and India.
  • Respond to customer service inquiries as needed.
  • Review catalog data sheets and oversee January / August catalogs.

Qualifications :

  • Min 3+ yrs of proven experience in product development and design, particularly in lighting, table lamps, and mirrors.
  • Proficiency in 3D design software (Rhino, Modo, Sketchup).
  • Strong project management skills with the ability to handle multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Detail-oriented with a strong sense of organization.
  • Ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams.
