French Teacher / Tutor

Location : Oxford Learning St. Catharines, 24-100 Fourth Avenue, St. Catharines, ON

Job Type : Part-time

Salary : $19 / hour

Schedule : Evenings (3 : 45 pm – 7 : 15 pm) Monday to Friday; Saturday mornings (9 : 45 am – 1 : 15 pm)

Position Requirements :

  • After‑school and evening hours (3 : 45 pm–7 : 15 pm) as well as Saturday mornings (9 : 45 am–1 : 15 pm); preferred commitment until the end of the term in June, continuing through the summer even better.
  • Strong spoken and written French and English; teaching in French.
  • Teaching up to a Grade 9 level (up to Grade 12 preferred).
  • Ability to multitask and balance up to three students.
  • Must be able to commute to location (in‑person); vulnerable sector screening mandatory.

Qualifications : Education

  • Bachelor’s degree or similar certification in a relevant field.
  • Fourth‑year university students with extensive tutoring experience considered.
  • Teaching certification an asset.
  • Good knowledge of the current Grades 3–12 French core curriculum.
  • Experience

  • Experience teaching / tutoring French at Grade 3–12 (or equivalent).
  • Strong English written and oral communication skills.
  • Strong French skills and ability to guide students’ understanding.
  • Ability to multitask and balance up to three students at a time.
  • Responsibilities :

  • Teaching up to 3 students at a time at different levels.
  • Following Oxford Learning methodologies and philosophies.
  • Filling in post‑lesson notes.
  • Completing daily student communication updates.
  • Maintaining a friendly and professional manner at all times.
