About the Role

We’re looking for a hands-on Industrial Mechanic / Millwright to install, maintain, troubleshoot, and optimize our production equipment. This role is critical to keeping our CNC machines, automation systems, and auxiliary equipment running at high uptime in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.

You’ll work directly on the floor with production, engineering, and automation teams to minimize downtime, improve reliability, and support new equipment bring-up.

Core Responsibilities

Equipment Installation & Commissioning

  • Install new machinery
  • Assist with machine commissioning, validation, and production ramp-up
  • Interpret mechanical drawings, layouts, and schematics

Maintenance & Troubleshooting

  • Diagnose and repair mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, and hydraulic issues
  • Perform preventative and predictive maintenance on production equipment
  • Respond to breakdowns with a strong sense of urgency to minimize downtime

Continuous Improvement

  • Identify failure modes and implement corrective actions (root cause analysis)
  • Improve machine reliability, uptime, and maintainability
  • Work with engineering to modify or upgrade equipment and fixtures

Fabrication & Mechanical Work

  • Perform machining, fitting, welding, and assembly as required
  • Build or modify jigs, fixtures, and mechanical systems
  • Align shafts, bearings, gearboxes, and precision components

Safety & Compliance

  • Follow lockout/tagout (LOTO) procedures and safety standards
  • Ensure equipment is operating safely and within regulatory requirements

Documentation:

  • Maintain accurate logs of all repairs, parts used, and time spent

Qualifications

Required:

  • Licensed Industrial Mechanic / Millwright (433A in Ontario) or equivalent experience
  • Strong mechanical troubleshooting skills in a production environment
  • Knowledge of hydraulics, pneumatics, bearings, drives, and power transmission
  • Ability to read mechanical drawings and schematics
  • Experience with CNC machinery and/or automated production systems

Bonus Points:

  • Experience in high-volume or continuous manufacturing environments
  • Experience with preventative maintenance systems (CMMS)
  • Licensed Industrial Electrician (442A)

Why Join Us?

  • Meal provided every work day (we have a very skilled chef on staff)
  • Snacks and coffee to keep you fueled
  • Health Spending Account (HSA)
  • Gym membership benefit
  • Safety shoe allowance

You must be legally allowed to work in Canada and be local or willing to relocate. This role is based in Cambridge, Ontario and telecommuting is not an option.

Compensation: $30-40/h, with flexibility depending on experience level.
