Project Manager (Network/Telecom)

We are looking for a Project Manager (Network/Telecom) to lead and enable the successful execution of IT data center network/telecom/MPLS related projects. We require a highly motivated individual who thrives in an exciting and constantly changing environment, can lead change through cross-functional teams and has the creative and innovative mindset required to get it done.

Responsibilities

• Defines the scope of projects in collaboration with project sponsor(s) and subject matter experts
• Creates a detailed work plan, identifying and sequencing activities needed to successfully complete the project
• Executes projects according to project plan
• Manages project financials and ensures accurate invoicing and budget documentation
• Provides leadership and guidance to cross-functional teams and liaise with various internal and external teams.
• Ensures that roles and responsibilities (internal and external) are clarified and understood.
• Facilitate, debate and guide decisions on appropriate solutions
• Identify opportunities and drive process improvements, standardization and enablers to gain efficiencies
• Provide relevant and high-quality communication to stakeholders, executives and team members
• Ensures that projects are appropriately resourced and delivered in full and to agreed timescales.
• Manages project financials and ensures accurate invoicing and budget documentation
• Complies with project governance, communications and change control standards, storing related documentation in shared team repositories.
• Delivers timely project status reporting.
• Carries out lessons learnt for each project to demonstrate continuous improvements and drive business change.

Qualifications

• 7+ years of experience in Project Management
• Experience building data center network and telecommunication systems
• Data Center MPLS project experience
• Experience with Layer 1 and Layer 2 networking and redundancy
• Experience planning/migrating users/clients from one network system to another
• Data center network connectivity/WAN/LAN
• Experience working with Network Engineers/Executives/IT/Operations
• Ability to translate and communicate complex issues and their resolution to stakeholders and senior management and be a thought leader
• Be organized, highly effective at problem solving and have outstanding influencing and negotiation skills
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Project and Visio
• PMP Designation

This is a minimum 12 month contract with likely extension located in downtown Toronto (work from home until deemed safe). Requires a strong home based internet connection and webcam.
