Position : Senior Technical Business System Analyst (Yardi) Location : 4 days on site in downtown Toronto Job Type : Full-time permanent Job Overview : We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Business System Analyst with extensive experience in Yardi to join our client’s team. This pivotal role involves planning, designing, developing, and launching efficient business, financial, and operational systems to support core organizational functions and processes. The ideal candidate will gather and analyze data for business cases, proposed projects, and system requirements, generating reports that include probable causes and solutions to system issues. With strong communication, analytical, and problem-solving skills, the Senior Business System Analyst will maximize the benefits of technology projects. Key Responsibilities : - Apply business analysis methodology to elicit and analyze comprehensive business requirements and use cases. - Perform business analysis planning to outline tasks and deliverables needed for projects and estimate required time. - Meet with decision makers, systems owners, and end users to define business, financial, and operations requirements and systems goals. - Lead design sessions to prototype new systems for enhancing business processes, operations, and information flow. - Facilitate the team to improve creativity and efficiency, managing the scrum process with the coordination of the scrum team. - Manage multiple competing priorities through effective organization and communication. - Review and analyze the effectiveness and efficiency of existing systems and develop strategies for improvement. - Identify and establish scope and parameters of systems analysis to define outcome criteria and measure actions. - Collaborate in the planning, design, development, and deployment of new applications and enhancements to existing applications. - Conduct research on software and hardware products to support recommendations and purchasing efforts. Scope of Responsibility : - Prepare and deliver reports, recommendations, or alternatives addressing existing and potential trouble areas in operating systems. - Provide end-user support to Yardi users and external consultants. - Execute administrative system tasks and create system design proposals. - Perform cost-benefit and return on investment analyses for proposed systems. - Ensure compatibility and interoperability of in-house enterprise architecture. - Create systems models, specifications, diagrams, and charts to guide system programmers. - Coordinate and perform in-depth tests, including end-user reviews, for modified and new systems, and provide post-implementation support. - Provide orientation and training to power users for all modified and new systems. - Plan, coordinate, and implement system upgrades. - Maintain detailed knowledge of applications and business processes, and provide recommendations for Yardi processes. - Maintain Yardi documentation for all environments. Education and Experience Requirements : - College diploma or university degree in business administration, computer science, accounting, or management information systems. - At least 5 years in a Business System Analyst role, specifically working with Yardi. - Certified Scrum Master is an asset. - Working technical knowledge of SQL languages. - Working knowledge of network and PC operating systems, including application security. - Experience in data cleanse, mapping, and transformation to support integration initiatives. - Extensive practical knowledge in importing data for reports, spreadsheets, graphs, and flow charts. - Extensive experience with core software applications, focusing on Yardi or other financial systems. - Proven experience in the operation and analysis of database hardware, software, and standards, as well as data retrieval methodologies. - Experience in supporting hosted software, cloud solutions, and Software as a Service (SaaS). Core Competencies and Skills : - Business automation and workflow process development desirable. - Solid knowledge of Yardi Voyager system configuration, security setup, and system administration. - Advanced knowledge of Yardi Voyager modules, including Commercial, Deal Manager, Investment Management, Advanced Budgeting and Forecasting, and Yardi Portals such as VendorCafé. - Advanced knowledge of the Yardi Database Schema / Structure. - Good understanding and ability to create Yardi reports. - Expertise in Yardi Systems Environment Management and System Administration. - Proficiency in SQL Servers, SSRS, Yardi report writing, YSR, and YSL. - Writing functional / technical specifications for Yardi Reports. Considered an Asset : - Working knowledge of Real Estate Accounting. - Expertise in all Yardi modules from both a support and implementation perspective. - Expertise in Yardi database schema, operation, and modules.
