TEAM LEAD, TALENT ACQUISITION

PEOPLE & TALENT OPERATIONS

Reporting to the Manager, People, the Team Lead, Talent Acquisition plays a key role in enabling NorQuest College is positioned to hire the best possible candidates by developing and executing industry leading recruitment strategies. They will draw on their passion, experience and expertise in recruitment to facilitate exceptional experiences for candidates and strong partnership with hiring managers. They will ensure proactive processes are in place, making adjustments as required to ensure that the functions evolve in response to external trends and labour market conditions. HOW YOU’LL MAKE A DIFFERENCE

  • Lead, coach, and mentor a team of Talent Acquisition professionals, ensuring the implementation of development plans to continue to grow competencies.
  • Provide oversight and effective management of workloads and priorities of the Talent Acquisition team.
  • In collaboration with HRBPs, provide advice and support on talent acquisition strategies and activities to ensure strong hiring results.
  • Directly or through others, manage and support all recruitment activities within the recruitment cycle from drafting of job advertisements to closing out competition files.
  • Identifying and networking with Indigenous agencies and organizations across Alberta.
  • Provide guidance to leaders and Talent Acquisition team members on best practices, internal processes, and legislative requirements.
  • Build and deliver sustainable processes that leverage technology to maintain talent pipelines for future staffing needs, surfacing hidden talent for current or future talent needs.
  • Lead and action programs and initiatives designed to elevate employer brand and the employer value proposition.
  • Identify ways to improve processes and effectively collaborate with colleagues to resolve process gaps or issues.
  • Undertake process improvement initiatives and talent management projects as required.
  • Ensure that Talent Acquisition processes are strong and implemented consistently to support quality assurance Provide oversight and effective management of workloads and priorities of the Talent Acquisition team.
  • Lead, coach, and mentor Talent Acquisition team members to support and facilitate growth and achievement of organizational objectives.
  • Provide coaching in the resolution of issues raised by the team and / or hiring leaders.
  • Cultivate a culture of high-quality support and service excellence.
  • Develop and maintain training materials and resources designed to enhance the skills and knowledge of hiring leaders on a variety of talent acquisition related topics.
  • Facilitate collaboration and training sessions on a variety of Talent Acquisition related topics with leaders at all levels of the organization.
  • Collaborate to develop and lead business plan initiatives in support of NorQuest College’s strategic plan.
  • Ensure internal and external Talent Acquisition reporting is completed accurately and within assigned timeframes.

WHAT YOU BRING

  • Undergraduate degree in a related field (e.g. human resources, management, business, commerce).
  • Registered Professional Recruiter (RPR) designation (strongly desired)
  • Working towards or has obtained a Certified Human Resource Practitioner (CPHR) designation.
  • A minimum of 5 years’ experience providing proactive full cycle recruiting support.
  • At least 2 years’ experience leading a team of recruitment professionals.
  • Strong experience working within Talent Acquisition Systems and Human Resources Information Systems (e.g. Acuity, Success Factors, People Soft)
  • Experience developing and implementing initiatives to enhance Talent Acquisition supports and services.
  • Equivalencies will be considered.

  • SALARY :  $87,095 - $108,899 reflective upon what you bring AKA your education and experience. This is a full-time permanent position with immediate access to our great pension and benefit programs.
