Temporary We are inviting applications for a Temporary Educational Assistant at St. Anne's Catholic Secondary School, Clinton. The Educational Assistant supports students to positively impact their faith development, well-being, and education. They assist students while fostering an inclusive learning environment. Responsibilities include providing support for academic, behavior, safety, medical, and physical needs. They work individually and / or in groups. This temporary position will be available from February 2, 2026 until June 26, 2026, 35 hours per week, at St. Anne's Catholic Secondary School, Clinton, Ontario. The rate of pay is $26.65 per hour plus vacation pay.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide educational support in compliance with pertinent legislation, standards, regulations, policies, administrative practices, and the philosophy of inclusion.
- Support and implement strategies to promote positive school climates that contribute to a safe, caring, and faith-based setting.
- Assist with the inclusion of students in all classroom and school activities.
- Increase access and reduce barriers that students may encounter throughout their school day to accommodate strengths and needs.
- Collaborate with the School and System Team to provide input in the development and revision of IEPs / behavior / safety plans.
- Support the implementation of components of the IEP / behavior / safety plan under teacher or principal direction.
- Promote independence in students; assist in creating social stories, learning materials, visuals, schedules, reinforcement systems, etc.
- Assist students in attaining essential social and job-related skills.
- Assist with personal care needs in consultation with the School and System Team, specialists, care providers and family members.
- Assist with lifting, positioning, and transferring using predetermined equipment in consultation with the School and System Team and specialists.
- Assist with implementation of strategies to support students in the appropriate use of assistive technologies and communication aids.
- Monitor, collect, record, and communicate data related to behavior, performance, and progress as determined by the principal or in collaboration with the School and System Team.
- Participate in projects / initiatives that contribute to a positive, faith-based educational experience.
- Promote and model positive and pro-social behavior in all aspects of the role with students, supervisors, members of the School and / or System Team, community partners, and family members.
- Act in a manner consistent with professional requirements in all aspects of work.
