Location: Edmonton, Alberta, Canada (Onsite)

Contract Duration: 12 Months

Work Arrangement: 100% Onsite, 5 days per week

Working Hours: Monday–Friday, 8:15 AM–4:30 PM Alberta time, excluding provincial holidays

Job Overview

We are seeking a highly experienced Senior Application Architect specializing in SAP Supply Chain Management (SCM) to lead the design and governance of enterprise-wide supply chain, procurement, and finance solutions.

The successful candidate will provide strategic architectural leadership across SAP S/4HANA, SAP Ariba, SAP Fieldglass, OpenText, and SAP Business Technology Platform (BTP). This role requires a comprehensive understanding of end-to-end supply chain processes, including Plan-to-Deliver, Source-to-Contract (S2C), and Procure-to-Pay (P2P).

The architect will ensure seamless integration across enterprise applications, optimize business processes, maintain data consistency, and align technology solutions with business objectives, compliance requirements, and long-term transformation strategies.

Key Responsibilities 1. Enterprise Architecture and Solution Design

  • Lead the end-to-end architecture for supply chain, procurement, and finance processes across SAP S/4HANA, Ariba, Fieldglass, and OpenText.

  • Develop long-term architectural strategies that balance standard SAP capabilities with business-specific requirements.

  • Ensure upstream and downstream business processes are fully integrated and aligned.

  • Align solution architecture with enterprise technology strategies, procurement frameworks, compliance requirements, and transformation objectives.

  • Conduct solution blueprinting, feasibility assessments, and cross-platform impact analysis.

2. SAP Integration and System Architecture

  • Design and govern complex integrations between SAP and non-SAP enterprise applications.

  • Define integration patterns using SAP BTP Integration Suite, Cloud Integration Gateway (CIG), APIs, IDocs, and SAP Datasphere.

  • Ensure reliable data exchange, workflow orchestration, and financial alignment across integrated platforms.

  • Maintain consistency across supplier master data, transactional data, and enterprise data flows.

  • Identify integration risks and recommend scalable, secure, and sustainable architectural solutions.

3. Supply Chain, Procurement, and Finance Process Leadership

  • Lead architecture initiatives across Source-to-Contract (S2C), Procure-to-Pay (P2P), inventory management, logistics, and supplier performance.

  • Ensure integration between procurement workflows and SAP Finance (FI), including invoice processing and financial postings.

  • Facilitate requirements-gathering workshops with procurement, supply chain, finance, and vendor management stakeholders.

  • Translate complex business requirements into functional and technical architectural designs.

  • Support process harmonization and modernization across enterprise supply chain operations.

  • Ensure solutions comply with applicable procurement policies, financial controls, audit requirements, and public-sector compliance frameworks.

4. Project Delivery and Technical Governance

  • Provide architectural leadership throughout enterprise transformation and implementation programs.

  • Guide functional consultants, developers, integration specialists, and testing teams.

  • Oversee solution validation, testing strategies, and release readiness.

  • Coordinate testing and validation activities for SAP Ariba and Fieldglass quarterly releases.

  • Establish architectural standards, technical documentation, governance practices, and quality controls.

  • Support change management and continuous improvement across enterprise applications.

5. Analytics, Reporting, and Data Strategy

  • Collaborate with data and reporting teams to design analytics solutions using SAP Analytics Cloud (SAC) and SAP Datasphere.

  • Ensure data models support operational reporting, compliance monitoring, and strategic decision-making.

  • Promote data consistency and integrity across integrated supply chain and financial systems.

  • Support the development of scalable reporting and analytics capabilities.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree or diploma in Information Technology, Computer Science, Business, Accounting, Finance, Supply Chain, or equivalent experience.

  • 6+ years of experience designing enterprise solutions with a long-term architectural vision, balancing standard SAP capabilities with business-specific requirements.

  • 5+ years of experience with SAP Finance (FI), including financial postings, invoice processing, and procurement or supply chain integration.

  • 10+ years of experience working with SAP ECC or SAP S/4HANA in Source-to-Contract (S2C) or Procure-to-Pay (P2P) processes.

  • 8+ years of hands-on experience with enterprise-wide transformation programs involving process harmonization, change management, and system integration.

  • 5+ years of hands-on experience with SAP S/4HANA and SAP Ariba applications.

  • 5+ years of leadership or supervisory experience in IT testing and validation, particularly for SAP Ariba updates.

  • 5+ years of experience leading requirements-gathering sessions and evaluating solution feasibility.

  • 5+ years of experience with public-sector procurement practices and compliance frameworks.

  • 8+ years of experience with end-to-end supply chain processes, including Source-to-Pay, inventory management, logistics, and supplier performance.

Certifications

Candidates should indicate whether they hold the following certifications:

  • SAP Ariba Certification.

  • SAP Fieldglass Certification.

  • Project Management Professional (PMP) certification.

  • SAP certification covering S/4HANA Procure-to-Pay (P2P).

Preferred Qualifications

  • 1+ year of experience implementing recognized project management methodologies and standards.

  • 1+ year of experience working with the TOGAF enterprise architecture framework.

  • 1+ year of experience working in or supporting public-sector organizations.

  • Certified Business Analysis Professional (CBAP) certification.

Work Arrangement and Equipment

  • This is a fully onsite position requiring attendance at the office five days per week.

  • All work must be performed within Canada due to network and data security requirements.

  • A laptop or desktop computer will be provided.

  • Candidates must be available during standard Alberta business hours.

Background Check and Mandatory Training

  • A criminal record check must be provided before the assignment begins, if requested.

  • The selected candidate must complete mandatory privacy and security awareness training.

  • Additional mandatory or optional training may be required.
