Responsible for the leadership and oversight of Student Life including strategic and program planning, people leadership, financial management, stakeholder relationship management, and operations.
Qualifications :
The incumbent must possess the following qualifications :
- Knowledge of leadership practices related to planning, policy development, financial management, program development / evaluation, performance and risk management, project management, contract management, customer service, and human resources.
- Knowledge of issues, trends, and challenges related to Carleton and the university sector with an expertise in student affairs and student life.
- Knowledge of contemporary best practices in Student Affairs and Student Life / Experience.
- Knowledge of the governing legislation.
- Knowledge of cultural competency and diversity.
- Ability to solve complex and interrelated student success issues that require the development of strategies, programs and services.

Health and Safety Requirements
This position is regularly required to work on campus in person. If this happens, you will work with your direct manager to set up a remote work environment including discussing appropriate technology and requirements. You are required to follow all University policies and directives, including to set up a safe and confidential workspace in a remote location and ensure all Carleton property (intellectual and other) is safeguarded. If required to work remotely, you will be notified by your manager when working full time physically onsite will resume.
