We are looking for a Lead of Sports Marketing for a top fashion client in Toronto! The Lead of Sports Marketing, Canada is responsible for our athlete / influencer, grassroots, and properties portfolio in Canada. This end‑to‑end role oversees the full strategy, planning and activation of partnerships that build authentic connections between the brand and athletes through sport and culture.
The ideal candidate combines deep knowledge of the Canadian sports landscape, with strong brand‑building expertise, relationship management skills, and passion for inspiring athletes.
Duties will include acquiring, managing, servicing and activating our portfolio of athletes / influencers, grassroots, and partnerships. The role will work cross‑functionally with internal teammates in Product, Innovation, Content, Brand, Ops, Legal, Finance, Comms, Strategy, Events, Retail / Wholesale along with external partners and agencies. The Lead of Sports Marketing will combine strong communication with creativity and resourcefulness, while serving as a key advocate for Canada, representing the region’s voice, opportunities, and priorities within the global organization. This role will also be the main Sports Marketing point of contact for our Outdoor Sports Marketing Business (e.g., fishing and trail) and work with designated 3rd‑party partners as necessary.
Responsibilities
- Develop and execute Canadian sports marketing strategy aligned to global brand priorities and local business objectives.
- Manage Athlete / Influencer, Grassroots, and Partnerships negotiations, onboarding, servicing and events to strengthen brand credibility and relevance.
- Manage Canadian integration into the GTM process and heavily influence athlete selection for campaigns and activations.
- Assist in the execution of seasonal product planning, seeding products, input & forecast orders when necessary for Athletes / Influencers, Grassroots, Partnerships and any in‑market events associated.
- Manage external communication with Athletes / Influencers, Agents, Partners and Agencies as applicable.
- Responsible for overseeing the annual sports marketing budget including T&E, assets and marketing expenses, ensuring effective investment and measurable business impact.
- Foster strong relationships with internal cross‑functional teams and global counterparts in Product, Innovation, Finance, Brand, Ops, Global Strategy, Communication & Events.
- Report on partnership performance, KPIs and ROI to key stakeholders and leadership.
