We are on the hunt for a Director of Finance to join our client's operations based in Mississauga, Ontario. Operating in the manufacturing industry, this role focuses on maintaining and executing financial standards, overseeing financial operations, and providing strategic financial insights for decision making.
Responsibilities :
- Oversee financial operations within the manufacturing setting, ensuring all processes align with the company's strategic growth targets
- Facilitate the development and management of an efficient costing system to support financial transparency and effective decision making
- Ensure accuracy in the preparation, consolidation, and reporting of financial results on a monthly and quarterly basis
- Lead in the management of tax-related matters for compliance purposes
- Implement and uphold robust accounting and internal controls in line with Sarbanes Oxley legislation
- Conduct in-depth financial reviews of all contractual obligations to ensure the company's financial interests are safeguarded
- Develop and present executive summaries based on data analysis for operational, financial, and strategic decision making
- Prepare and present internal financial reports to the executive and management team on a monthly basis
- Oversee the preparation of supporting information for the annual audit and internal SOX compliance
- Develop financial models to analyze strategic business decisions
- Conduct analytical reviews of Balance Sheet and P& L accounts to assist with variance analysis
- Establish benchmarks for measuring financial and operating performance
- Lead and facilitate cross-functional business initiatives to drive business growth and efficiency.
- Must possess a minimum of 10 years of experience in a finance leadership role
- Proficiency in annual budget preparation and management is required
- Demonstrable experience in auditing is essential
- Expertise in budget processes is a must
- Knowledge and experience in standard costing is necessary
- Background in the manufacturing sector is a key requirement
- Must have a CPA Designation
- Familiarity with IFRS - International Financial Reporting Standards is required
- Experience in controllership roles is mandatory
- Proficiency in financial consolidation is a must
