You as a Health, Safety & Environment Coordinator will :
Be responsible for safety orientation, job site inspections, onsite first aid assessment / treatment and accident / injury reports
Monitor employees and subcontractors on site to ensure compliance to safety procedures and escalate issues to resolution
Proactively identify and prevent hazardous situations and take necessary measures to correct them
Review of Subcontractors' Pre-Construction safety submittals
Review and file Subcontractors' weekly safety submittals
Organize and conduct training programs including but not limited to : WHMIS, Fall Protection, Personal Protection Equipment, CPR / First Aid
Effectively compile weekly, monthly, quarterly and annual project health and safety statistics
Create, maintain, and educate all site staff on maintaining a safety first culture
Is this the right role for you?
You have a minimum of 3-5 years of safety experience on Institutional, Commercial and Residential Construction Projects
You hold at minimum, a valid OFA L2 certificate (with Transportation Endorsement)
National Construction Safety Officer (NCSO) certificate is an asset
Construction Safety Coordinator Gold Seal Certification or CRSP Designation would be considered an asset
Experience in the Certificate of Recognition (COR) program would be considered an asset
You have the ability to delegate and influence others to follow safety rules and regulations
