Job descriptionMonthly analysis of current year spends compared with approved budgeted amounts Development of regular year end estimates Critical expenditure audit and analysis (i.e. Payroll, Capital, Revenue & Recovery) As part of the Unit's Controllership responsibility, effectively monitor and manage Operational Unit spending to ensure it is in compliance with current Financial Policies and Directives. Meridia Recruitment Solutions has partnered up with Durham Regional Police Services to recruit a Senior Financial Analyst to join their team in Whitby, Ontario.
Reporting to the Supervisor of Financial Services, this position is responsible for providing effective, accurate and efficient financial reporting, financial planning (budgets, forecasts) and financial analysis that will support organizational decision making. The Senior Financial Analyst ensures that finance functions are completed in accordance with established policies, directives, accounting standards, directives and related legislation. In addition, the Senior Financial Analyst functions in a controllership role by monitoring unit and branch spending to ensure overall spend falls within approved limits.
Responsibilities :
- Manage the development and delivery of planning submissions for the Service, including related reporting, analysis, training and presentation materials : annual budget, long range capital and operating forecast, and current year financial forecasts
- Manage the administration, support and continuous improvement of all financial reporting and planning systems, tools and models.
- Manage the review of monthly financial results and provide timely and effective information to support
