We are currently on the search for a Senior Financial Analyst, reporting to the Head of Mobile Klinik FP&A with direct exposure to senior leadership at both the MK and TELUS levels.

Serving as an integral member of the Finance team, the Senior Financial Analyst will play a key role in enabling Mobile Klinik's financial forecasting, planning, budgeting and analytics tools and processes to support the organization's strategic goals.

With the support of the broader finance and accounting team, you will create, implement, and evolve increasingly sophisticated financial planning and analysis processes, whilst delivering exceptional insights and thorough analyses.

You will foster relationships with business partners across the organization and present findings and recommendations to all levels of the organization to impact strategic and tactical business initiatives positively and productively in a rapidly growing and changing retail industry

This role is a blend of traditional FP&A duties where we leverage defined workflows and processes (which of course you will play a big role in) but also plenty of exposure into ad-hoc projects into analytics, operations, commercial strategy, integration, and many more areas where you can make a huge impact and continually challenge yourself!

What you'll do

  • Develop and maintain a comprehensive understanding of the strategies, business issues, risks and profitability opportunities of the business
  • Develop, maintain and evolve all budgeting, forecasting, and reporting processes to provide reliable, timely and accurate financial plans that meet business objectives
  • Update ongoing forecasts and analyses by working with key business stakeholders to incorporate new business trends and opportunities
  • Monitor and track results versus budget / forecast, perform variance analysis, investigate variances to identify risks and opportunities, and present findings to the Controller and senior leadership
  • Support the business as a subject matter expert in regular and ad-hoc projects and provide analysis, inclusive of strategic findings and recommendations to the organization to drive decision-making
  • Provide all management reporting on a punctual and accurate basis
  • Participate in month-end processes, including preparing management reporting and variance analysis
  • Support capital planning and reporting
  • Maintain up to date process documentation for all primary responsibilities
  • Other duties as required, including ad hoc analysis, reporting and special projects
  • Hire, train and coach planning and analysis team / team members

What you bring

Minimum 5 years of progressive financial analysis, planning, and reporting experience, ideally gained in an at- scale and / or high-growth retail organization;

retail or telco industry experience an asset

  • Experience in reviewing management financial statements and providing analysis on variances to operational management
  • CPA professional designation
  • Undergraduate degree required (Finance or Accounting)
  • Advanced financial modeling skills and a degree of conversancy with financial systems, statements, accounting principles, and MS Office;

comfortable working with large data sets

  • Strong organizational and time management skills to prioritize tasks, anticipate roadblocks, and manage multiple deliverables to meet deadlines in a fast-paced setting
  • Results-oriented problem-solver who is flexible, collaborative, proactive and demonstrates excellent judgment
  • Strong oral and written communication skills, as well as interpersonal skills to develop effective working relationships with other departments and external customers and suppliers
  • Ability to communicate complex accounting or finance concepts to a non-finance audience
  • Self-motivated individual who is proactive and takes initiative
