With over 500 workers across locations in Peterborough, Toronto, and Arnprior, BWXT NEC supplies nuclear fuel and fuel channel components, services, equipment and parts for the CANDU® nuclear power industry.

We are looking for a Senior Buyer for our Peterborough, Ontario site. BWXT NEC's Fuel Handling and Engineered Solutions group is involved in the design, manufacture, development, testing, parts supply, and service of on-power refueling, reactor maintenance, and nuclear medicine delivery tooling sold around the world. We are the original designer of the automated systems that allow 24 / 7 on power refueling of CANDU reactors and aim to solve some of the Nuclear Industry’s most challenging problems.

Our Role

To purchase assigned commodities and services, for the function intended and from the best-qualified supplier, primarily involving items with the largest dollar value and of the most complex or technical nature, involving the most critical specifications which require greater experience and expertise, assuring maximum return (lowest cost, highest quality, on-time delivery, etc.) for each dollar spent is obtained, all within ethical purchasing practices and Company policy.

This position is onsite in Peterborough, Ontario.

Your Day To Day

Commodities & Services Purchasing :

• Purchase assigned commodities and services;
• Obtain vendor quotations for materials, equipment, services, etc.;
• Review and analyze quote to ensure clarity and accuracy of technical and commercial items.
