We are in search of a HR Coordinator to join our clients team in the shipping industry. The role is based in North Vancouver, British Columbia, and offers a longer term contract employment opportunity. As a HR Coordinator, you will be responsible for managing full cycle recruitment, updating HRIS system with payroll changes, writing staff announcements, and coordinating various employee events.
Responsibilities
- Perform full cycle recruitment tasks such as job posting, approval, and pre-screening
- Manage HRIS system updates, particularly concerning payroll changes
- Write and distribute staff announcements and messages
- Coordinate onboarding and offboarding procedures
- Liaise with managers across different departments
- Support HR and administrative related projects as required
- Participate and support in employee and community events as needed
- Coordinate Employee Townhalls, Annual Events, and training
- Provide administrative and project support to the Leadership Team as required.
- Possess at least 2 years of experience in the Human Resources field
- Must have proven experience in performing background checks for potential employees.
- Demonstrable experience in managing benefit functions, including health insurance, retirement plans, and other employee perks.
- Exceptional communication skills, with the ability to liaise effectively between different departments and levels of management.
- Must be proficient in inbox management, demonstrating the ability to effectively sort, prioritize, and respond to high volumes of email correspondence.
- Experience in full cycle recruiting, from sourcing and interviewing candidates to conducting onboarding processes for new hires.
