Administrative Assistant, Dean, Health, Human Services, & University Studies
Salary: $49,428 to $60,648 per year
Location: Slave Lake
June 8, 2026 to Ongoing

Qualifications:

  • Minimum one year certificate in Office Administration or related field.
  • Three or more years of experience in an administrative assistant role.
  • Demonstrated proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite.
  • A clean criminal record check.
  • A combination of education, training, and experience may be considered.

Additional Qualifications Suggested:

  • Class 5 Driver’s License

Position Description

Administrative Assistant, Dean, Health, Human Services, & University Studies

Nature and Scope of Work

The Administrative Assistant provides comprehensive support to the Health, Human Services and University Studies department. This role contributes to the smooth execution of daily operations, including project coordination, document preparation, proofreading, editing, and curriculum formatting. The position also encompasses a variety of administrative tasks such as organizing meetings, recording and transcribing minutes, preparing training and learning materials, ordering supplies, and managing internal and external correspondence.

Duties and Responsibilities

Project Management

  • Provide status updates on assigned projects to the Dean.
  • Proofread, edit, and format curriculum materials, documents, and correspondence.
  • Create and maintain forms, reports, and tracking systems for multiple contracts.
  • Participate in Centre for Teaching, Learning, and Research curriculum project meetings, as well as other required meetings.

Administration

  • Organize and coordinate meetings; record and transcribe minutes; assist with agenda preparation.
  • Support Health and Human Services faculty and staff with room bookings, hotel arrangements, and required documentation.
  • Enter student grades when necessary.
  • Respond to emails in a timely and professional manner, directing inquiries to appropriate team members.
  • Maintain an updated and accurate project list.
  • Manage office supplies, including preparing purchase orders and recording goods received.
  • Provide administrative support to the Centre for Teaching and Learning, Health and Human Services programs, and department managers.

Accounting, Budgeting and Contract

  • Assist management with budget development and preparation.
  • Code invoices and obtain required approvals.
  • Collect, organize, and code monthly receipts for department managers.
  • Liaise with Finance regarding invoices and contract payments.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

  • Excellent proofreading and editing skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office programs.
  • Strong organizational and communication skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team.

Successful candidates must provide College or University transcripts and a Criminal Record Check to Human Resources prior to commencement.
