About The Opportunity
The Radiological Technologist reports to the Manager of Diagnostic Imaging and is responsible for the delivery of patient-centered care while operating radiological / accessory equipment with minimal supervision. The role requires exercising independent judgment, ingenuity, and initiative to perform a variety of diagnostic or therapeutic procedures that use ionizing radiation, applying the ALARA principle. The technologist remains responsive to each patient, communicates effectively in a multidisciplinary environment, and fosters a culture of safety in the workplace.
Travel
Travel to other sites may be required.
About You
- Graduate of an accredited School of Radiological Technology.
- Canadian Association of Medical Radiation Technologists (CAMRT) certification.
- Nova Scotia College of Medical Imaging and Radiation Therapy Professionals (NSCMIRTP) licensure.
- Previous experience is an asset.
- Qualification to work in more than one Diagnostic Imaging modality is an asset.
- Basic Life Support Certification.
- Ability to use time effectively by organizing and prioritizing duties, working independently and under minimal supervision.
- Possess the physical capabilities to perform the duties of the position.
- Demonstrates initiative, organizational, and prioritizing skills; works collaboratively within inter-professional teams.
- Comprehension of technical language for reviewing manuals and participating in relevant discussions.
- Competency in other languages is an asset; French preferred.
Recruitment Incentives
Successful candidates may be eligible for up to $10,000 signing bonus and up to $5,000 of relocation assistance with a defined Return of Service contract.
Hours
Compensation And Benefits
$34.78 - $44.49 hourly.
Successful candidates are eligible for a benefits package that includes health, dental, travel, long-term disability, life insurance, and a defined benefit pension plan.
