Job description

WHO WE ARE

CFMWS. A job with purpose. Our 4000+ person strong organization champions a healthy, fun, creative and active lifestyle for Canadian Armed Forces members, Veterans and their families. Help us deliver a variety of recreation and fitness programs, offer family support, organize charity events and make sure our members access retail, travel and banking discounts and customized financial services. At Canadian Forces Morale and Welfare Services (CFMWS), we love what we do. And we live it too.

THE ROLE

Imagine the excitement and ability to show off your incredible skills in a deployed environment (overseas) for six months delivering fitness, sports, and recreation services to the Canadian Armed Forces (CAF) and partner nations from across the world. As a deployed Fitness, Sports, and Recreation team member, you are not just delivering these services, but enhancing the overall morale and welfare of all the troops deployed.

The Fitness, Sports and Recreation Coordinator and Supervisor are part of an enthusiastic team of adventurous individuals who enjoy meaningful employment and contributing in a team-based land or ship-based environment. Excited by the opportunity to deploy as a civilian among our CAF personnel abroad, you are a team player in a fast-paced setting. You are able to adapt to new challenges in an ever-changing dynamic environment.

The Fitness, Sports and Recreation Coordinator and Supervisor will be contributing at the forefront of supporting the CAF abroad. Most importantly, you will be coordinating Fitness, Sports and Recreation for the CAF, and partner nations. You will conduct personal and group fitness, sports training and events, organize and deliver recreation events, as well as delivering briefings and guidance on fitness, sports and recreation policies, directives and procedures.

The Fitness, Sports, and Recreation Coordinator and Supervisor play an important role in enhancing the morale of military members by planning recreational activities, outings and events. Keeping the military energized ensures they are mentally and physically ready to sustain the difficulties of military operations, and live healthy balanced lives.

The Supervisor is selected from the pool of Coordinator candidates and after successful completion of the Training and Selection Course. The Supervisor oversees the fitness, sports, and recreation department. Supporting and leading a team of Coordinators towards developing and delivering exceptional programs and services for the CAF and their partner nations.

The Supervisor is responsible for managing team members and program schedules, performance management, and overall management of the fitness, sports, and recreation department.

This is an exciting and rewarding opportunity that does not come along often!
