DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES :
- Perform all radiation treatment and planning procedures to ensure accurate delivery of a prescribed course of radiation therapy including : simulation, treatment delivery, basic dosimetry and brachytherapy;
- Maintain an accurate record of all aspects of the treatment procedure, calculations, dose and all other relevant information;
- Educate patients in all aspects of their prescribed treatment in accordance with the teaching standards as set out in MDRCC policy;
- Interpret, assess and verify all treatment parameters, including dose distribution, simulator images, treatment accessories and R&V data;
- Assess patient related problems and decide on the appropriate course of action;
- Perform daily quality assurance procedures for assigned unit;
- Maintain updated knowledge of departmental techniques and policies;
- Participate in the development and execution of quality assurance procedures;
- Maintain continuing competency through attending continuing education programs;
- Work at satellite locations within regional program (Peterborough); and
- Other duties as assigned.
