Position Overview

As a Construction Manager, you’ll be responsible for site management and execution of capital & non-routine projects using your construction management expertise. You will coordinate with multiple teams to help identify key resources on any given project while providing direction to meet all project objectives. Safety is always on your mind and your goal is to execute the deliverables while ensuring every employee stays safe no matter the situation.

In this role, you will:

  • Work to deliver projects efficiently and safely including coordination with related business groups.
  • Coordinate with various stakeholders to ensure the scope and progress of a project is on track.
  • Support accurate construction estimates and development of detailed projects plans with constructabilityreviews, etc.
  • Actively manage site and project safety as primary point of contact, identify hazards and implementmitigations plans to reduce risk.
  • Provide support to Project Managers and affected business units on forecast, schedule, scope, etc. reporting and controls as required.
  • Manage site coordination and safety in support of the delivery and execution of multiple projects.
  • Support project managers on planning, execution, reporting, etc. as required.
  • Collaborate and build strong relationships with multiple stakeholders across the company.
  • Enhance and maintain safety measures during the execution of projects.
  • Identify opportunities and develop solutions to improve project delivery processes, site coordination, sitemanagement, etc. in support of continuous improvement in the PMO.
  • Manage sites and projects of increasing complexity and responsibility.
  • Build on your relationships and continue to develop open and honest collaborative partnerships with stakeholders.
  • Develop a strong sense of customer service when delivering on projects.

What it takes:

  • A post-secondary degree with a minimum of 3-5 years supervisory experience, or an equivalent combination of education (trade/technologist certification), training and experience, with a supplementary education in project management, finance or accounting.
  • Electrical utility (substation, transmission and distribution and generation) experience in project construction is considered an asset.
  • Strong communication and organizational skills along with a passion to collaborate.
  • Strong commitment and focus on industrial, construction and project safety.
  • Proficient in computer applications such as MS Office (Required) and SAP (Asset).
