Description :

The Department of Applied Psychology and Human Development (APHD) at the Ontario Institute for Studies in Education (OISE), University of Toronto, invites applications for a full-time tenure stream appointment at the rank of Assistant Professor with a specialization in School and Clinical Child Psychology. The appointment will commence on July 1, 2025, or shortly thereafter.

Candidates must have completed a PhD or equivalent doctoral degree in Child Clinical and / or School Psychology from a CPA or APA accredited program by the time of appointment or shortly thereafter. Candidates must also be registered or eligible for registration with the College of Psychologists and Behaviour Analysts of Ontario.

We seek a dynamic and innovative scholar with a demonstrated record of excellence in research and teaching, whose research and teaching interests complement and enhance our existing departmental strengths in school and clinical child psychology. The successful candidate will be expected to pursue innovative and independent research, and to establish an outstanding, competitive, and externally funded research program. The successful candidate’s research should focus on one or more of the following areas :

Intervention research with children, youth, and / or families (e.g., clinical trials, community-based interventions, prevention programs, school-based intervention or prevention programs, educational interventions, psychotherapeutic approaches);

Neurodiversity and child development;

Technology-based assessment or intervention for children, youth, and / or families (e.g., digital therapy, virtual assessment or therapy tools, assessment or therapy apps, AI and assessment or intervention).

Candidates must provide evidence of research excellence which can be demonstrated by a record of publications in top-ranked and field relevant journals or forthcoming publications meeting high international standards, the submitted research statement, presentations at significant conferences, awards and accolades, and strong endorsements from referees.

Evidence of excellence in teaching will be provided through teaching accomplishments, the teaching dossier (with required materials outlined below) submitted as part of the application, as well as strong letters of reference.

The successful candidate will contribute to the delivery of both core and interdisciplinary curricula within and across APHD programs, supervise graduate students, and contribute to the development of the School and Clinical Child Psychology (SCCP) program, including our training clinic. The successful candidate will also participate in standard professional and administrative activities within the department, division, and university.

Salary will be commensurate with qualifications and experience.
