Interior Health is looking for an experienced Coordinator, Network Projects to join our team on a full time permanent basis.

This position offers a flexible work location from within the Interior Health Region, but will regularly be working in the office in Kelowna.

Salary Range:
The salary range for this position is $90,770 (min) to $113,462 (midpoint) to $130,481 (max) per annum, based on 1.0 FTE. Interior Health typically establishes salaries within the minimum and midpoint of the salary range based on qualifications, experience of the applicant, and an internal equity review of the salaries of other employees.

About the job:
In accordance with the established vision and values of the organization, the Coordinator, Network Projects performs a variety of duties to assist in the operation of the Networks and Telecommunications group, including: managing, defining, budgeting, and scheduling projects; managing staff; creating standards and documentation; and training staff on standard processes. The Coordinator serves as a resource to Directors, Managers, and staff from Digital Health and Facilities Development regarding Networks and Telecommunications.

Typical duties and responsibilities:

• Supervises staff and contractors assigned to work on projects, construction, moves, and installations under the direction of the Manager, Networks and Telecommunications.

• Assists with the development of procedural documentation for Networks and Telecommunications, Field Support Services, and Service Desk.

• Liaises with Project Managers to ensure that Networks and Telecommunications’ needs relating to projects are specified and met correctly.

• Ensures that tasks are finished correctly and on time for completion of projects impacting Networks and Telecommunications. Monitors task management systems.

• Plans tasks relating to Networks and Telecommunications associated with projects which impact the department and directs assigned staff for the duration of the project.

• Coordinates project tasks as required; meets with managers to review current methodologies; identifies resource requirements; identifies project milestones and deliverables; performs feasibility studies and cost/benefits analyses; conducts project planning; and maintains project documentation, evaluation criteria, and authorizations.

• Inspects and subsequently accepts or rejects work performed during projects by staff and contractors to ensure Interior Health standards and specifications are followed. Works with staff, consultants, and contractors to develop remedies, as required.

• Creates estimates and budgets, monitors expenses, conducts variance analyses, and prepares relevant reports for projects impacting Network and Telecommunications.


• Selects, directs, evaluates, coaches, assists, and, when necessary, disciplines staff and contractors assigned or seconded to relevant project work as needed.

• In alignment with IH’s Occupational Health & Safety Program, employees shall adhere to all Occupational Health and Safety policies and procedures at all times and attend all required training. Employees are responsible to report any identified hazards, unsafe conditions or incidents to the manager or supervisor immediately.

• Performs other related duties as assigned.

BC’s health system is in the process of transformation.
