Job description

Project Manager / Business Analyst – Financial Markets & Product Control
Location: Toronto, ON
Work Model: Hybrid – 1 day per week in office
Contract: 12 months, with potential for extension

Lead High-Impact Finance Technology Projects in a Global Banking Environment

Are you a Project Manager / Business Analyst who understands both technology and financial markets?

We’re looking for a seasoned Project Manager / Business Analyst to join a global financial services environment supporting Product Control, Finance IT, Regulatory, and technology teams across the Americas.

This is an exciting opportunity for someone who can move beyond traditional project management and bring real-world knowledge of U.S. financial markets, financial instruments, P&L, regulatory reporting, hedging, and Product Control to technology initiatives that have a direct business impact.

You’ll be an individual contributor and hands-on delivery leader, working closely with globally distributed development teams, business stakeholders, and technology partners.

Advantages
Global Collaboration

You’ll work with stakeholders and development teams across:

Canada United States Mexico India

The role operates primarily on Eastern Time, with occasional earlier starts to accommodate collaboration with the India-based development team.

Strong communication and the ability to build relationships across cultures, functions, and time zones will be critical to your success.

Responsibilities
What You'll Be Doing

This role is approximately 60–70% Project Management and 30–40% Business Analysis, giving you the opportunity to influence projects from requirements through delivery.

Project Management & Delivery
Lead projects supporting Product Control and Finance IT across the Americas.
Run daily Scrum/Agile ceremonies with development teams, including teams based in India.
Manage project timelines, risks, issues, dependencies, and delivery.
Provide regular project status updates to stakeholders across regions.
Identify risks early, recommend pragmatic solutions, and drive issues through to resolution.
Coordinate across business, technology, regulatory, and development teams.
Business Analysis
Work directly with end users and stakeholders to gather, analyze, and refine business requirements.
Create and maintain user stories and requirements in Jira and Rally.
Support User Acceptance Testing (UAT) and coordinate communication between business and technology teams.
Translate business needs into clear requirements for development teams.
Use data and analysis to support requirements gathering and decision-making.
Financial Markets & Regulatory Technology
Support internal applications related to hedging and regulatory reporting.
Maintain and update Jira for an internal Hedging application.
Work with developers and stakeholders on application enhancements and support.
Support Regulatory Qlik Reporting initiatives.
Leverage approved AI tools to improve project delivery and support outcomes while adhering to security and data-handling requirements.

Qualifications
We’re looking for someone who brings both strong delivery skills and genuine US financial markets knowledge.

The strongest candidate will have a well-rounded understanding of US financial markets and banking, rather than being purely a project manager. The priority is finding someone who combines financial markets/Product Control knowledge, U.S. banking experience, FAS 133/hedging expertise, and strong PM/BA capabilities. The candidate must be comfortable operating independently while collaborating with globally distributed business and technology teams.

Required Experience
Strong understanding of U.S. financial markets.
7+ years of experience in banking and/or financial services technology.
Strong experience supporting Product Control and/or Regulatory Banking environments.
Proven Project Management + Business Analysis experience.
Experience working with financial instruments and P&L.
Experience supporting regulatory reporting and financial technology initiatives.
Strong Agile/Scrum and DevOps experience.
Advanced experience with Jira, Atlassian tools, and/or Rally.
Experience with project management tools such as Clarity and/or Microsoft Project.
Hands-on experience with SQL and Excel for data analysis.
Excellent communication, problem-solving, and stakeholder-management skills.
Ability to work independently while collaborating with globally distributed teams.
FAS 133 / Hedging Experience

FAS 133 knowledge would be considered a preferred skill for this role.

Experience with hedge structures and underlying financial instruments is highly valuable, particularly:

Interest rate swaps
Fixed income
Hedging applications/systems
P&L systems
Regulatory systems
General Ledger environments

You don't need to know every regulatory code—but you should understand how regulatory requirements impact financial products, systems, reporting, and technology projects.

Required:
Jira
Rally / Atlassian
Agile / Scrum
SQL
Excel
Data analysis

Experience with:
Clarity
Microsoft Project
Confluence
Qlik
Cloud reporting tools
AI productivity tools

Summary
This is an opportunity to join a global Finance IT organization where your expertise will sit directly at the intersection of financial markets, regulatory requirements, business analysis, and technology delivery.

You'll have the autonomy to operate as a hands-on project leader while partnering with teams across multiple regions and functions.

If you're a financial services PM/BA who understands what happens behind the numbers—not just how to manage the project plan—this could be an excellent opportunity for you.
