Job description

Job Overview

Reporting to the Vice-President as the CNC Programmer you are responsible to develop, optimize, and maintain CNC programs used to manufacture precision components for kitchen, closets and other millwork related items.

Your day-to-day responsibilities will include:

  • Developing, optimizing, and maintaining CNC programs.
  • Interpreting builder or engineers drawings for accuracy and quality of optimized programs.
  • Collaborating with design, sales, and production staff to support smooth manufacturing operations.
  • Troubleshooting and correcting programming issues.
  • Participating and supporting continuous improvement initiatives in the manufacturing environment.
  • Working in an organized and safe manner, adhering to Qualico’s Safety Program and relevant safety regulations. Reporting incidents or near-miss incidents immediately to management.

Essential Requirements

  • High School Diploma, or equivalent.
  • Minimum 1 year experience in CNC programming in a manufacturing environment.
  • Proficiency with CAD software and G-Code programming.
  • Ability to read technical drawings and specifications.
  • Satisfactory verification of criminal record check.
  • Comfortable using office equipment, Microsoft Office Programs (Outlook, Word, Excel, Teams, SharePoint and PowerPoint) and computer aided design software (Mitek, CAD, SoftPlan, etc.).

Preferred Qualifications

  • Post-secondary education in Computer Numeric Control (CNC) Technology is preferred.

Work Conditions

You primarily work on site during regular business hours. Work has exposure to noise from equipment/machinery and occupational hazards as well as dealing with inclement weather and dust. Overtime may occasionally be required.
