Job Description
AECOM is seeking a Plumbing Systems Engineer to join our team. This position is based on-site, out of Mississauga. We are seeking professionals to join our team to help us build one of the most advanced, sustainable and passenger-friendly airports in the world. Preferred Requirements :
Major Responsibilities :
- Provides expert advice, guidance, and subject matter expertise throughout the planning, design, and implementation of the program, ensuring compliance with all relevant plumbing and utility system codes and standards.
- Ensures plumbing and utility systems design and construction meet technical requirements through design reviews, submittal assessments, and testing.
- Conducts Facility Alteration Permit (FAP) compliance reviews for all proposed renovations, alterations, maintenance work, and new construction projects.
- Delivers non-resident engineering expertise through field inspections at various stages of construction.
- Supports the development of governance frameworks and process documentation related to plumbing and utility systems engineering practices.
- Evaluates alternative technical proposals submitted by contractors, assessing feasibility and alignment with program requirements.
- Manages the technical aspects of the program, setting targets and goals for plumbing and utility systems engineering.
- Facilitates coordination between engineering and architectural disciplines to ensure seamless integration across programs, facilities, and assets.
- Reviews contractor and designer deliverables to confirm adherence to relevant requirements, codes, and standards.
- Monitors the designer’s input throughout construction, overseeing RFIs, shop drawings, material approvals, mock-ups, and punch lists.
- Provides management-level progress reports and briefings on plumbing and utility systems design, highlighting key developments, challenges, and opportunities.
