Job description
Role Responsibilities
Reporting to the Facilities Coordinator, the Power Plant Supervisor is responsible for the operation and maintenance of the Edmonton Law Courts, a large physical building comprised of an array of heating and cooling equipment, humidification, digital control system, fire / life safety system and an emergency backup generator. The position is required to supervise a skilled unit of Power Plant Engineers / Maintenance Service worker and liaise with other trade staff regarding projects or maintenance activities.
The primary responsibilities for the Power Plant Supervisor include, but are not limited to :
- Act as a subject matter expert regarding the technical operation of the facility.
- Instruct, train, assign work to subordinates and perform annual performance appraisals.
- Retain records, certify timesheets, and prepare reports.
- Identify, analyze and recommend solutions to problems in area of plant operation.
- Maintain material inventories and authorize material purchases.
- Working with a site wide BMCS ensure various utility delivery components operate efficiently and effectively.
As a member of a 24-hours emergency response team, response to emergency call backs is required.
