Mix and prepare soils with our potting machine and / or manual hand potting.
Pot and re-pot plants
Transplant bulbs, seedlings or rooted cuttings
Water and tend to plants. Make sure plants receive correct levels of nutrients and are planted and maintained following best practices – (day-to-day plant care)
Position and regulate irrigation systems to water plants.
Apply granular slow release and liquid feed fertilizers
Report signs of insect or disease damage
Spray duties may include applying insecticides, fungicides and herbicides ensuring plants are not at risk for root rot or diseases and weed control. These duties will be conducted under the supervision of qualified staff.
Provide plant care which includes; hand weeding, fertilizing, plant spacing, and trimming / shaping.
Assist in pruning trees and plants. Trim to remove disease / unwanted shoots and leaves.
Assist in loading plant material, and relocating plant material in nursery.
Maintain inventory levels of annuals, perennials and nursery stock on hand by conducting regular inventory counts
Write daily basic progress reports
Clean work area
May operate small farm machinery / equipment to fertilize, cultivate and spray
May operate tractors and lawn mower
Help with property maintenance including grass cutting, tree trimming etc.
Requirements
- Education : Not required
- Experience : Minimum of 6 months of experience in the field
- Knowledge of plants, care and growing of plants
- Training will be provided on-site.
- Working Conditions and Physical Capabilities : Large workload, Repetitive tasks, physically demanding, Combination of sitting, standing, walking, Bending, crouching and kneeling, Standing for extended periods of time, overtime required.
- Personal suitability : team player, organized, effective interpersonal skills
- Worksite environment : hot, all climate conditions
- Weight Handling : Up to 45kg (100 lbs.)

Benefits
Salary : $ hourly, 30 – 60 hours per week.
Benefits : Accommodation provided at a discounted rate. Transportation costs are covered if workers need to relocate.
Housing will be provided onsite at the farm at CAD 30 per week.
Airfare tickets will be provided by the employer
