Position Summary

Certified Rehab‑Physio Assistant, Neuro / Stroke. Your goal in this position is to implement a treatment plan as prescribed by the supervising occupational and / or physical therapist, observing and reporting changes in patient status with team members, performing administrative duties, and maintaining a clean and hazard‑free environment. You demonstrate excellent communication and interpersonal skills, connect naturally with supervising therapist, physicians, staff, patients and families, and display a high degree of professionalism. You have the ability to lead group sessions, motivate patients to participate, work in a physically demanding, challenging environment, adapt to a changing workload, and possess great organizational skills. You are a critical thinker and prioritize collaborative inter‑professional teamwork, advancing care through teaching, research and innovation while ensuring health and safety policies are followed.

On a practical level, you will

• Carry out exercise programs with patients on an individual or group basis, and assist with gait training as prescribed by the physiotherapist.
• Carry out appropriate patient transfers, demonstrating safe lifting techniques and proper body mechanics to nursing staff and patients’ families as instructed by the occupational and / or physical therapist.
• Carry out individual ADL training with patients to facilitate independence as prescribed by the occupational therapist.
• Conduct therapeutic activity groups under the supervision of an occupational therapist once or twice weekly.
• Set‑up and manage equipment and supplies.
• Clean and maintain equipment and therapy space.
• Complete documentation and workload data in a timely manner.
• Act as a preceptor to OTA / PTA students.
